Fresh off the saddle from the previous equestrian engagement session, we made a trip down to the woodlands waterway. We visited waterway square and even the woodlands mall for some quick shots... The spirit was still high as well as some romance for the formal look. Congratulations once again!! Can't wait for the wedding next year!!
Are horses man's best friend? There was a bond between Jermey and Kendrese that accepted him as extended family. In this engagement photo session, this Houston horse played his role perfectly. A little mischief, even more relaxation. Originally we were scouring the city of Houston for horse riding trails and places to take the engagement photos. Little did we know, there was a field literally a half a mile from the horse's home. It was the perfect place for Kendrese and Jermey to be themselves. I always say, do something that reflects what you are as a person and what you enjoy in life. It will be that much sweeter... Congrats once again and stay tuned for part to in the Woodlands.
Sometimes, us Houston Wedding Photographers experience weddings that seem to be going thru the motions. We honestly try to avoid those couples. In a wedding, my advice to any couple it to live it up and enjoy the moment. At Sugar Creek Country Club we experienced joy and excitement from Banke + Henry... Having shot the traditional wedding a couple days before, I knew that there was a fond love for dancing and great music!!! Congratulations once again!!!
Traditional Nigerian wedding ceremonies are loads of fun... The traditional wedding is always a joy to be apart of. The families of the bride and groom come together and playfully negotiate the giving away of the bride to the groom. A home atmosphere laid down the foundation for everyone to be relaxed and partake in the joy of the occasion. we are so used to brides being stressed and this was the opposite for Banke and Henry. They were dancing and cracking jokes before the moments and were all smiles all day long. Houston had endured one of its many hard rains and floods that night but it stopped nothing...... To be continued.. Look for the white wedding ceremony coming soon.
As a destination wedding photographer, we don't take these opportunities to travel abroad lightly... We going "all the way up"... We had an opportunity to second shoot at an Old San Juan Puerto Rico Wedding... What a historic and beautiful place. Think Miami but with a spanish colonial influence. I literally hopped off the plan in awe of the historic places and modern art deco architecture. We did a bridal session at the Castillo San Cristobal fort. Climbing those hills was a task but the breath taking views and images made it worth it... i even met some locals who were carrying iguanas as pets... Stay tuned for the main wedding at La Concha Resort Hotel San Juan....
Sometimes the best moments in life are the simple gestures. That best describes this couple. It was one of those windy almost about to rain days in Houston. Dark gray clouds were coming and all I had on my mind was, please don't rain... We had half of the park to ourselves until the light turned into a cool peaceful night.... With the traditional Nigerian attire, the colors of the headpiece and dress blew me away!!! Can't wait to shoot the wedding.
Everyone who has been in a wedding has always dreaded the wedding ceremony and couldn't wait to get to the reception!! Why?? Food, Fun, and Laughter!! Probably food but a chance to dance the night away!!! For that, there is nothing like a Nigerian Wedding in Houston!!! The intensity is so real, people literally get elbowed ( gently ) so I can get my shots in.. Nigerian Wedding Receptions present a unique challenge because everyone in the family comes to celebrate... I absolutely love it and cherish the opportunity to get the most memorable shots possible. Here are some shots from a recent wedding at the Tuscany Villa in Katy, Texas. Thanks to Ed for allowing me an opportunity to capture the moments.
When the gathering of critical mass houston bike ride is taking place around you, there is no panic because love is about experiences.
Engagement Photos at Market Square Park in Downtown Houston is normally a quaint place to hide out. Get a bite at Niko Nikos or walk your dog... There were 100s of bikers around us but to Krystal & Jonathan, it didn't matter. In a big of billions, you choose one person to wed. To get a little more privacy, we set out to finish the engagement session at a downtown houston rooftop. The skyline was surreal and it reminded me of Gotham City in a sense. As we beat the rain by mere minutes. Congrats to Krystal & Jonathan. Lighting and uplifting at Weddings is something that is easily overlooked during the planning process. Have you ever went to a hotel ballroom and looked at the pale brown walls and aging ceilings. One simple effective way to spruce up your wedding reception is to provide uplifting and drapery. Being a Houston Wedding Photographer who loves drama, those romantic shots that brides love is only made even more beautiful with a stunning backdrop complimented by sweet lighting. In this post, you will see some examples of how uplifting can bring out the best in your wedding.
Every now and then someone wants to be different for their Houston engagement photos. We have seen a lot of things done over and over and it says something to be unique. So Tiffany asked me my thoughts and I suggested something colorful. We shot near Dynamo Stadium and found a graffiti wall that complemented the vibrancy of the stadium. The wind was really kicking but we just played with it and let nature take its course. It was an awesome session that ended with a kiss as the sun descended below the downtown Houston skyline... Congrats once again guys!!!
When you are anticipating your first child, there are all sorts of emotions... Wondering what will be and what could be.. How your life will change and you will see things in your child that you used to be. Your parents will become more "right" lol... Had an opportunity to shoot within a few neighborhoods in Sugarland for the maternity session. It was the feeling on a true sprint day and the sun shined so beautifully and effortless. Here are a few shots from the session. Congrats once again guys!!!
Continuing from the Japanese Garden Engagement session ( click here ); we fled to a cozy space in Houston... Actually it was mad noisy as there was another party's celebration about to occur on the top floor. Ignore that and allowed some moments to occur. It was a studded jewel box of a session.. Congrats to Leah and Joseph... God bless and best wishes.
Japanese Gardens in Houston, Tx is a hidden gem... It is truly a zen like experience. Many couples take this stroll gazing upon the trees as the sunlight strikes them. The sun highlighted Leah & Joseph's love. Sometimes all we need is to take a break from city life and have a walk in the park. Stay tuned for an intimate affair in part 2... coming soon.
Downtown Houston Theatre District is usually a nice setting for engagement photos so why don't couples take photos after the wedding. This was Dalphanie & Randall's 5th anniversary so they wanted to make it special. Keeping that same love you had before marriage is just as important to carry it on. So we set up a date night session in some cozy places in the Houston theatre district.
Tremont House Galveston is an astonishing place for a wedding, if you love something vintage and classy, I think its a great fit. Reminds me of being in the French Quarter but still in Texas. I was an associate on this wedding. What I really want to focus on is that moments matter... There is notthing like capturing the pure energy and emotion of a bride and the guests.. Yes, a lot of those guest reactions, you will only see later after the big day has passed and gone.. Even our nervous groom was having all types of nerves before the wedding. He refused to put his tie on until the ceremony lol.. It was truly a gem and I can't wait for another opportunity to shoot in Galveston again!!!
